About Madsbyparken

Madsbyparken is one of Fredericia's most beautiful recreational areas, covering approximately 80 hectares of green parkland in the western part of the city. The area is home to Madsby Legepark, Fredericia Sports Centre, The Historical Mini Town and Monjasa Park, making it a popular destination for families, sports enthusiasts and visitors of all ages.

Fredericia Sports Centre

Fredericia Sports Centre offers a wide range of activities for both children and adults. Whether you're looking to stay active, relax or enjoy a day out, you'll find something to suit every age and interest.

The centre features a modern fitness gym with state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, a dedicated indoor cycling studio, spacious changing facilities and six multi-purpose sports halls for activities including football, badminton, volleyball and table tennis. You can also visit the on-site café, Klubhuset, which serves sandwiches, light meals and refreshments.

The swimming complex includes diving boards at 1, 3 and 5 metres, as well as a bio sauna and steam room. Next to the main pool, you'll find a tropical water park with a large waterslide.

Outside, the centre offers two padel courts, two all-weather artificial football pitches and an outdoor CrossFit training area.

Madsby Legepark

Madsby Legepark is one of Denmark's most popular free family attractions, welcoming more than 400,000 visitors every year.

The park offers a safe and welcoming environment where families can enjoy play, nature and memorable experiences together. Visitors come from across Denmark as well as from abroad during the summer season.

Admission to Madsby Legepark is free all year round. Seasonal attractions, including the rowing boats and mini golf, are open daily from Easter until the end of Week 42.

Take a ride on the Madsby Train, which connects the different attractions across Madsbyparken. You'll also discover a large animal area with birds in indoor and outdoor aviaries, as well as goats, rabbits and cattle.

The Historical Mini Town

The Historical Mini Town recreates the market town of Fredericia as it appeared in 1849. Every street, house, fortification and public space has been carefully reconstructed at a scale of 1:10, providing a fascinating glimpse into the city's history.

Today, the Mini Town is home to around 750 miniature buildings. Much of the construction, restoration and maintenance is carried out by dedicated volunteers from local organisations, with around 60 buildings added or renovated each year.

Knowledgeable guides bring the miniature town to life by sharing stories about the buildings and the people who lived in Fredericia in 1849.

The project was established by Fredericia Municipality in 1983 to commemorate the city's historic victory on 6 July 1849. The Mini Town includes both the fortified town and the impressive defensive ramparts originally built during the reign of King Frederick III in the 1650s, all faithfully recreated in miniature.

Monjasa Park

Monjasa Park is the home stadium of FC Fredericia and is directly connected to Fredericia Sports Centre, which manages the stadium's daily operations.

The pitch is set below ground level, creating an excellent viewing experience for both players and spectators, and the stadium meets the standards required for Denmark's top football division.

The playing surface is equipped with under-soil heating, and the venue can accommodate up to 10,000 guests for concerts and football matches. The AHA Lounge, located in the main stand, offers excellent views across the pitch.
